tax day 2011 *tears*

Today is Tax Day in the good ole U.S. of A. This marks the first year that I have ever OWED taxes. This, quite frankly, is some bullshit! Last year I lost my job and my home and I OWE taxes. Something seems wrong with this picture. Add to this that I discovered that you can only claim childcare expenses for children under 13. Maybe I should have known that, but I didn’t. Add to this, that they pretty much force you to say that you have a “business” even if you just provided subcontracting services for someone else’s business. Add to that that according to Zeitgeist: The Movie, Federal taxes are illegal anyway! Yes; I believe stuff like that. So, anyway, I’m just going to take a deep breath, pour myself a drink and be grateful that I at least had the funds available to pay the taxes owed. Hope your tax day experience is a good one!

I’d love to hear your tax day stories. Feel free to share in the comments.
